The new Minecraft-themed video game.

On Tuesday 13th October, it was released for the majority of the Minecraft platforms such as PC, Mac, XBOX 360, PS3, XBOX 1, PS4 and PS Vita. On Thursday 15th October, it was released to iOS and Android. It was made by two companies: Mojang, the creators of the game it was based on, Minecraft; and Telltale Games, a company that made some narrative games.

About Minecraft

Minecraft is a sandbox game that was created by Markus Persson, who is known by fans as Notch. It was first created in 2009 and was first only available to PC and Mac. In 2011, Minecraft grew massively during Beta and was officially released in the 1.0.0 update. Around that time, Minecraft Pocket Edition was released to the Xperia Play, iOS and Android. In 2012, Minecraft was released for the XBOX 360, and over the next few years to other consoles. It has two main game modes: Creative, which is focused on building, and Survival, which is focused on surviving. It has sold over 60 million copies across all platforms.

About Minecraft: Story Mode

Minecraft: Story Mode was a long project which started in 2012, and announced at the end of 2014. The trailer, along with more information, was announced at MineCon 2015, also including a group of heroes called the Order of the Stone. The name Order of the Stone is a reference to the name of Minecraft on the 14th of May 2009 (Minecraft: Order of the Stone). During September, a release date was announced for Minecraft: Story Mode. Only Episode I and II have been released at the time of writing, but Episodes III, IV and V may be out by the time you are reading. The main character is Jesse and the player is able to choose what he says or does at various moments. The plot for the game will not be listed as it is a spoiler.
